More visitors attended a Suffolk heritage railway than ever before, according to figures.
Mid Suffolk Light Railway’s attendance figures for 2015 were 5% up on the previous year. John Reeve, from the railway, which is based in Wetheringsett, said: “It’s our best ever year. We did really well on our special events and the sun came out on those days, which was terrific.”
A number of events were popular, including the railway’s ‘Middy in the War Years’ event, and the steam gala.
Mr Reeve added that this year there would be a number of special events running, including the running of four steam locomotives at the gala, which he believed was the first time that many trains would be operating on the line at one time. For more information visit www.mslr.org.uk
