A FARMER has been taken to hospital after he was injured by a cow.
Emergency medical charity, Suffolk Accident Rescue Service, was called to the agricultural incident in West Row, Mildenhall at about 5.30pm yesterday.
Volunteer doctor Andy Mason attended the scene and treated the 52-year-old farmer who had been hurt by the cow, which is believed to have been protecting its calf.
A spokesman for SARS said although the man’s injuries were not life threatening, he had suffered chest and internal injuries and was transferred to West Suffolk Hospital for treatment.
The spokesman said: “We understand that the man slipped and the cow had somehow got on top of him and started butting him, which led to some pretty serious injuries.”
