Firefighters were called out to Mildenhall on Monday evening to reports of a forest fire.
The drama unfolded at Kings Forest just before 6.15pm.
Crews from Brandon and Mildenhall and a water carrier from Newmarket were sent to the scene.
They used hose reels and fire beaters to extinguish the blaze and they were back at their stations just before 8pm.
