A house burglary in which two wallets were stolen has prompted police to warn residents to keep their doors and windows locked.

It comes after a home in Sharpes Court, Mildenhall, was broken in to through an open front window between 12am and 4.10am yesterday.

Two wallets containing small amounts of cash were stolen and cigarettes were pinched from a car, which had been “insecure” and parked on the drive, a Suffolk police spokesman said.

He added: “Police are reminding residents to ensure they secure their doors and windows at night and to always keep vehicles locked, even if parked on the drive.”

Witnesses are sought. Call police on 101.
