MISSING Suffolk singer/songwriter Belinda Gillett was today found safe and well.

Worried relatives had alerted police after the 32-year-old had not been seen since leaving her Felixstowe home last Friday tea-time.

She had been due to meet with friends on Sunday but did not show up.

Police said they were concerned for her wellbeing and appealed for her or anyone who may have seen her to get in touch.

A police spokeswoman said Ms Gillett had been found safe and well by police officers in the early hours of this morning in west Suffolk.

She thanked the public and media for their help.

The acoustic/folk singer has released an album called Someone Hates You - on which she sings a song called The Girl Who Disappeared - which has made the download charts.

She began singing at an early age and when she was 13 and attending Orwell High School she sang on a version of Queen's classic Who Wants to Live Forever released to raise funds for the British Bone Marrow Appeal, recording at Abbey Road and Olympic Studios in London.

Over the past decade she has been playing regular gigs all over the region and was delighted with the CD she released last year.

Her songs are described as “dark, haunting tales conveyed with beautiful soaring vocals”, and she says her influences include Mew, Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Muse, Bjork, Flaming Lips and George Harrison.
