A DECISION has today been announced on the future of Nacton Post Office.
Following a six week consultation, Post Office Ltd will replace it with a mobile service.
The new service will operate from the car park of George Court Sheltered Housing, from 8.30am to 10.30am on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
The same range of services will be available with the addition of DVLA facilities and customers can still collect benefits in cash using the everyday banking services or Post Office card account.
A statement from the Post Office said: “The Post Office Ltd is satisfied that this location will provide adequate space, will not cause undue congestion, and the opening times meet the needs of the local community.”
The decision was reached after the consumer watchdog Postwatch verified that the correct consultation procedures were followed.
