Woman riding mobility scooter breaks back after collision with car

A woman driving a mobility scooter has been left with a broken hip and back after being involved in a collision with a car in Beccles.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident which happened at 3.40pm on Tuesday, October 2, in Gosford Road.

The crash saw a green Citroen Xsara Picasso involved in a collision with a mobility scooter, leaving the rider with a number of injuries.

The rider, a 55-year-old woman, was left with a broken hip, cracked vertebrae, and cracked ribs following the incident.

A spokesman for Suffolk Police said: “Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact PC 1856 Dan Peck on 101 quoting reference CAD 214 of 2 October.”
