More than 200 women gathered at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall this afternoon for the Fenwick and Milsom Hotels Fashion Show hosted to raise cash for the GeeWizz Charitable Foundation.

Showcasing Fenwick Colchester’s new collection, models took to the catwalk in The Hangar section of the venue.

Executive assistant at GeeWizz, Maddi Tasker, said she had a brilliant time – and initial projections suggest more than £6,000 has been raised.

The money will fund a piece of equipment for Thomas Wolsey School in Ipswich, which caters for pupils with physical or sensory needs. It will also go towards a DIY SOS style project being organised to help a Kesgrave family.

Ms Tasker said: “The show was absolutely fantastic, we are so grateful to both Milsoms and Fenwick for organising it. We all had a brilliant time.

“At the moment the total money raised is around £6,000 and it is going to be given to Thomas Wolsey School for equipment of their choice, we are unsure of specifics at the moment.

“Whatever we raise will also go to a family we are helping in Kesgrave – Daniel Dellar has Dravet’s syndrome which is a rare condition which causes seizures.

She added: “He doesn’t have a bath downstairs at the moment and it’s becoming difficult for him to wash as he’s unhappy having showers because they cause more seizures so we’re hoping to help the family to install a new bath for them to use.”

GeeWizz volunteers will be discussing arrangements for the project with the Dellar family over the coming weeks.

Geraldine Milsom said it has been an aim of hers to hold a fashion show in The Hangar for many years.

She chose GeeWizz as the nominated charity after witnessing the work the organisation carries out across the county.

Mrs Milsom worked together with Fenwick Colchester, who provided the outfits for the fashion show – all of which are from their new collection – to make the event a success.
