EDINBURGH'S German ace Kevin Wolbert has been ruled out of Wednesday night's Premier League KO Cup final, second leg against King's Lynn at the Norfolk Arena with a suspected broken finger.
Wolbert suffered the injury in the final heat of Edinburgh's heavy 59-32 promotion/relegation first leg defeat at Elite League Belle Vue on Monday.
Monarchs' officials have confirmed Wolbert is to undergo scans to assess the extent of the hand injury but will definitely miss Edinburgh's trip to Saddlebow. The Scottish outfit will now use a guest with rider replacement already in operation for injured team mate Michal Rajkowski.
Wolbert's absence is a huge blow for the visitors after top scoring for Edinburgh with paid 12 at Saddlebow in last week's aggregate play-off win over the Stars.
Rob Lyon's men need to overhaul a seven point first leg deficit to complete an historic second domestic treble after losing 48-41 north of the border on Friday.
