One in 20 drivers stopped by Essex Police during its festive anti-drink driving campaign have tested positive for alcohol.

The latest figures, taken up until Monday December 22, shows 2,083 motorists have been stopped by officers.

Of these 103 – 5% – have tested positive for alcohol above the national limit.
