DETECTIVES investigating a double murder in Ipswich have today been awarded another 26 hours to question two suspects.
DETECTIVES investigating a double murder in Ipswich have today been awarded another 26 hours to question two suspects.
Magistrates gave Suffolk Police the extension in order for investigators to continue questioning a 15-year-old female and a 41-year-old man over the murders in Victoria Street and Limerick Close.
They now have until around 7.30pm tomorrow until the extension of custody time expires.
A Suffolk Police spokeswoman said: “Suffolk Police can confirm that the South East Suffolk Magistrates Court has this afternoon authorised a 26-hour extension of the custody time limit of the female and male arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder.”
Meanwhile, a 27-year-old man arrested just before 3pm this afternoon on suspicion of murder remains in custody at Ipswich police station.
