IPSWICH: Drivers faced another afternoon of delays today after a vehicle broke down on the A14 just outside the town.
One lane was obstructed from about 2.50pm following the break down of a lorry near the A14 on the eastbound carriageway and drivers endured slow-moving traffic.
The lorry had suffered a flat tyre and had tried to enter a coned-off lay-by but was partially blocking one lane of the busy dual carriageway when it came to a standstill.
The lorry was eventually removed and traffic returned to normal by about 4.30pm.
Yesterday a three-vehicle crash on the westbound carriageway of the Orwell Bridge caused “bedlam” for drivers. Traffic was halted for two hours while the damaged cars were cleared.
