More Zavvi stores axed

MUSIC and games retailer Zavvi is to close another 17 stores, with the loss of 242 jobs.Administrators Ernst & Young said the remaining 31 stores will continue to trade as a buyer is sought.

Stores in Ipswich, Braintree and Cambridge have already closed.

Today's closures are in Aberdeen, Blackpool, Camberley, Carlisle, Chester, Coventry, Denton in Manchester, Derby, Harlow, Hemel Hempstead, Hereford, Loughborough, Sheffield's Meadowhall Centre, Shrewsbury, Swindon, Walton-on-Thames, and York.
