THE Cobras lost on their travels again when they tackled King's Lynn away in the National League.

A top-scoring paid nine from 15-year-old prospect Ben Morley was the biggest visiting talking point from Friday's defeat at the Norfolk Arena.

Although the Kart Raceway Cobras achieved their best away performance so far, they also had the benefit of no less than six races starting with only one Barracuda, after both Rhys Naylor and Jake Knight were ruled out through early injuries.

The Cobras led briefly following the 5-0 from Morley and Dan Blake after both the home reserves had fallen in heat two.

But with only one further race win - from Jamie Courtney in heat 12 - the Hoddesdon team never looked likely to maintain that advantage against a Lynn side for whom Adam Allott and Jamie Smith finished unbeaten and the three other Cudas were paid for at least eight.

The most exciting races came when Courtney edged Scott Campos for second spot in heat 10, and captain Danny Halsey delivered a tremendous pass of Darren Mallett, and then fended off a late fightback to inflict the long-time Barracuda's only defeat of the night, two races later.
