A MORTAR shell has been discovered on an East Anglian beach.
A MORTAR shell has been discovered on an East Anglian beach.
The shell washed up on the shore at Jaywick in Essex yesterday morning.
The Clacton Coastguard and the Royal Navy were dispatched to the scene.
They collected the shell and took it to Hutley's Beach where the Navy carried out a controlled detonation.
