A 31-YEAR-OLD Essex man was killed after he lost control of his Honda motorbike and smashed into a roadside sign.Gary Preston, of Saywell Brook, Chelmsford, died in hospital on Saturday night hours after coming off his 600cc bike as he rode along the A414 at Widford, just south of the county town.

Gary Preston, of Saywell Brook, Chelmsford, died in hospital on Saturday night hours after coming off his 600cc bike as he rode along the A414 at Widford, just south of the county town.
Emergency services were rushed to the scene shortly after 5pm and found him lying 150 yards from his motorbike at the Three Mile Hill part of the road.
He was taken to Broomfield Hospital with serious injuries, but died later that night. No other vehicle was involved in the incident.
A spokesman for Essex Police said Mr Preston's death took the total number of road fatalities in the county this year to 29 with four of those motorcyclists.
