A motorcyclist was taken to hospital today after a collision with a deer which ran across the rider’s path on a Suffolk road.
A volunteer doctor from the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) charity was mobilised to attend the accident, which left the rider with serious injuries.
The incident happened happened at around 4.30am on the A1303 near Bottisham, just outside Newmarket.
The motorcyclist, who was in their forties, was treated at the scene by the volunteer SARS doctor for head and serious leg injuries.
The SARS doctor administered specialist painkilling drugs before accompanying the patient to hospital by land ambulance.
