A man was dragged from a burning van by members of the public during a crash in Fornham St Genevieve.

Police were called to the B1106 around 3pm to reports of a collision between a Peugeot car and a van.

A Suffolk police spokeswoman said the car had overturned and both vehicles caught alight.

The male passenger of the van who was dragged from the vehicle is believed to be seriously injured, the spokeswoman added.

Both the female driver of the car and the male driver of the van sustained minor injuries.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said two patients were taken to West Suffolk Hospital.

He added one motorist aged in his 50s suffered an injury to his arm and another man sustained a spinal injury.

Three fire crews from Bury St Edmunds attended the crash.
