Movers and Shakers: New restaurant manager DeborahTullett joins the Swan at Lavenham
DEBORAH Tullett, 34, an accomplished manager and team leader within the quality hotel industry, has been appointed as restaurant manager at the 15th century Swan at Lavenham.
She took up the position after spending more than two years in a similar post at the four-star Runnymede Hotel & Spa, Staines.
Previous positions have included assistant restaurant manager at the AA two rosette City Caf� in London’s City Inn (now DoubleTree by Hilton) and three years working at management level at The Grove, a five-star resort and a member of Leading Hotels of the World, near Watford.

Kevin, who is managing director of the Newmarket-based firm, has also recently been confirmed as chairman of BIBA’s general insurance brokers’ committee which represents the interests of the association and BIBA members in the general insurance sector across the UK.

Kevin Hancock set up the new commercial insurance brokerage earlier this year with Leigh Smart, Laura High and Simon Miller. Kevin was previously nanaging director of The Davis Group plc.

: : Ginny Idehen been appointed as head of business development at West Suffolk College.
She will lead the college’s team of business-focused co-ordinators, creating and providing services for business.
Ginny said: “I am delighted to be working at the college. We have exciting plans to further extend our services to businesses in Suffolk, including more one-day workshops in a number of areas. We are also looking to offer even greater flexible delivery at times that suit businesses.”
Ginny has worked as a small business adviser for Business Link for the past 10 years, visiting around 150 businesses a year to provide advice and the tools to help them increase profitability and add genuine value to what they do.
Ginny’s commercial knowledge and excellent track record in helping businesses develop are a vital component in the college’s mission to create and deliver first class training, responsive to business needs.
: : Barclays has bolstered its wealth and investment management division in East Anglia team with two senior appointments to its Ipswich office.
James Wood has joined as a corporate wealth adviser at Barclays Corporate & Employer Solutions, and will focus on advising local entrepreneurs, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and smaller corporate clients on a range of solutions to meet their business continuity and succession planning needs.
Andrew Spivey has joined as a portfolio manager to run discretionary portfolios in the East Anglia portfolio management team, which forms part of the central Global Research and Investments department.
James joins Barclays from HSBC where he has worked as a commercial financial planning adviser since 2008. Andrew has worked in the financial services industry for more than 25 years, most recently as a private client manager at Killik & Co in Ipswich, and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments.

James Caley is joining the team based at the Claydon Business Park, having completed his A-levels at Thomas Mills High School. He is joined by Hayleigh Alden who comes from West Suffolk College after achieving three distinctions in her BTEC Business course.
James and Hayleigh will be studying towards their AAT, Association of Accounting Technicians exams. Also joining them in their studies will be Julia Dickens, who is already working at the firm.

James lives in Wickham Market and plays for the town’s football club in his spare time. Hayleigh, who is from Stowmarket, enjoys practising martial arts and is currently training for her black belt.
