JAN McLean and James Francis have accepted invitations to become partners at Ensors Chartered Accountants.

Jan joined Ensors Medical team in December 2010 having started her career with Kinnaird Hill in 1989, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1996.

James joined Ensors Corporate team in January 2011 and deals with a wide variety of clients, from UK-based private and family-owned businesses to multi-nationals, with particular emphasis on the technology and not-for-profit sectors.

Danny Clifford, managing partner, said: “The partners are delighted to welcome Jan and James as partners and look forward to working with them to take the business forward. They are both highly respected within the East Anglia region by clients and colleagues alike.”

: : NINE students from chartered accountants and business advisors, Larking Gowen, are celebrating after passing their exams.

The successful students are Daniel Jefferson, Kerry Horne, Tessa Brown, Chloe Parfitt and Shaun Powley from the Norwich office, Laura Clayton and Grant Edwards from Diss, Amelia Haynes at Holt and Kelly Watkins based at the Ipswich branch.

The students passed various accountancy exams including Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

To mark their achievements all were invited to lunch as guests of managing partner Bob Rose.

“It was great to meet all the students and personally congratulate them on their results and many are already studying for further accountancy exams,” said Mr Rose.

“We continually invest in our students with comprehensive training and support to ensure that we have the best resources available for clients.”

The students were also joined by Jon Woolston, who took over Bob Rose’s managing partner role in 2013 and Larking Gowen Partners Ian Fitch and David Whitehead.

: : Four new Associates have been appointed at estate agents and auctioneers Cheffins.

Chairman Bill King said: “Jennifer Fairhall, Remi Gannon, Martin Millard and Jamie Warner represent the diversity of Cheffins.

Jennifer Fairhall from Ely office has been at Cheffins for six years and is a land agent and rural chartered surveyor dealing with rural agency, estate management and is an auctioneer

Remi Gannon has been at Cheffins for nine years and is the Saffron Walden office’s residential manager, primarily dealing with the sale and letting of residential property.

Martin Millard has been at Cheffins Cambridge office nearly nine years and is an auctioneer and valuer specialising in art and design since 1860 and sporting guns.

Jamie Warner has been at Cheffins for seven years and is branch manager of the Haverhill office overseeing all aspects of the sale and letting of residential property.

: : FAMILY solicitor Charlotte Knappett at Colchester and Chelmsford-based law firm QualitySolicitors FJG has been promoted to partnership member.

Having joined the firm in 2001, Charlotte works in the family team and specialises in domestic abuse, emergency children applications, financial claims and collaborative law. She is based in the firm’s central Chelmsford office and the move sees her become the 19th partner of the firm as QSFJG continues to expand its client base across Essex and London.

Charlotte said: “I am immensely proud to have been made a partnership member and I am looking forward to helping the firm go from strength to strength. I am now in the next stage in my career and it is a hugely exciting time for both me and the firm.”
