One of the women who confronted the murderers of soldier Lee Rigby has said she hopes they are not shown any lenience when sentenced next year.

Ingrid Loyau-Kennett spoke to Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale shortly after they attacked and killed Fusilier Rigby.

The 48-year-old, who used to live in Charles Place, Grundisburgh, talked to the men for around 10 minutes near the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich, London after the incident in May.

And after 29-year-old Adebolajo and 22-year-old Adebowale were found guilty by a jury at the Old Bailey today Miss Loyau-Kennett said the verdict came as no surprise.

Asked how she felt about the jury’s decision Miss Loyau-Kennett said: “At the moment, relieved. It’s great they’ve been found guilty.

“No one was expecting anything else, but I hope they don’t make an appeal.

Miss Loyau-Kennett added she thought the men should remain behind bars for the rest of their lives.

“The only thing I’m a bit scared of is the sentence. We tend to be quite lenient,” she said.

“I hope they’re going to get life, for life. I hope they’ll be tough on them and remain tough for years to come.”
