Suffolk police and crime commissioner Tim Passmore has expressed delight at his office winning a prestigious national award for openness and transparency for a third successive year.

Christopher Jackson, chief executive of Suffolk’s Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC), said: “We were commended for excellence for openness and transparency, which is down to the hard work and application of the OPCC in ensuring we comply with our statutory obligations concerning making information available to the public.

“It is really important that this office complies with the statutory obligations placed upon the Police and Crime Commissioner.

“This includes making sure we publish all the information we are required to publish in a clear and accessible way.

“I am pleased that Comparing Police and Crime Commissioners (CoPaCC) has acknowledged this by making this award.”

The Quality Mark was presented to Christopher Jackson by Bernard Rix, chief executive of CoPaCC this week.
