St Nicholas Hospice Care’s Battle of the Knights event will now take place at The Playground in Barrow, on Sunday, July 22.

The 5km event, which is returning for the second time, will see challengers face an array of obstacles including a 10ft wall, tyre run, vertical cargo net, incline and decline monkey bars, before they can finish with a ramp climb.

Jenny Smith, the hospice’s events manager, said: “We were all so disappointed when we had to take the difficult decision to postpone our second Battle of the Knights challenge event.

“We are so pleased we have been able to rearrange the date and we are very much looking forward to another great event and I hope as many people as possible will join us on the day.”

Participants do not have to fundraise for the hospice to take part, but for those who want to support the charity by pledging to raise £50 can enter the challenge for a reduced rate of £25, rather than £35.

On the day races for children will also feature, with medieval-themed fancy dress is optional, children’s races will start with a 1km run followed by a series of child-friendly obstacles. Children can take part for £15, with 100 places available.
