More information has been released about two burglaries in Barrow which saw £22,000 worth of equipment stolen from a fitness and event facility.

The burglaries took place at some point overnight between Wednesday, September 26 and Thursday, September 27 at the Barrow Archery Club and The Playground, in Church Road, Barrow.

In the first incident on Church Road offenders forced entry into the reception area of The Playground obstacle course premises by breaking a window.

Items stolen include an iPad in a black and red case, a Fenton VONYX portable system speaker, three 20 litre green metal jerry cans of diesel, £44 in cash, a 50in black Samsung TV and a Warrior generator.

In the second incident, also on Church Road, offenders forced entry into the Barrow Archery premises and stole a generator, alcohol and an unknown amount of cash. They broke into the Academy gym and salon, taking petty cash, a Lenova laptop, Dell PC and a Toyota Hilux Invincible.

Police are linking the two incidents and want to hear from anyone who may have heard or seen any suspicious activity in the area at the time of the offences or who may have any information to assist the enquiry.
