A PRINCIPAL has finally been found to lead a revolutionary college in Ipswich, it can be revealed today.
Alan Whittaker has been appointed to head up the new SWISS (South West Ipswich and South Suffolk) College, which is set to open in September 2010.
The current headteacher of Stoke High School, a specialist school rated by Ofsted as outstanding, will take up the post on April 1.
The 90,000 job had to be re-advertised by Suffolk County Council in November after no suitable candidates were found.
Mr Whittaker said: “I feel proud and privileged to be chosen to lead the new college and become part of this exciting collaborative development.”
