The New Horizons Club in Woodbridge celebrated the festive period by putting on two free Christmas lunches for members.

The lunches finished off a successful year for the club who won the Potter Cup for their community work and also expanded their sessions to meet demand.

The first of the two lunches was attended by Woodbridge Mayor Clare Perkins with county councillor Caroline Page ,whose locality budget helped the club to stay open after its closure was announced in 2015.

New Horizons Chairman James Lightfoot said: “I am proud to be Chairman of a Club that so obviously provides pleasure for older people particularly at Christmas when loneliness can set in.

“The volunteers work hard but always with a smile. Their Christmas lunches are wonderful events.”

Anyone who would like to help the club should contact manager Brenda Jackson on 07514354752.
