The new mayor of St Edmundsbury was among invited guests who celebrated the unveiling of an art exhibition at a Bury St Edmunds school.
South Lee School, on Nowton Road, held an evening private view last week of the early years foundation stage (EYFS) art exhibition EASEL1, which featured work from pupils aged 2-6.
The exhibition is a culmination of work to date and 67 pupils at the school looked at many contemporary artists and created pieces in sculpture, print, paint and time-based media.
Local artist Jonathan Boast, who is also a member of the EYFS team, displayed the work in the school hall and South Lee welcomed key figures from the community to the evening.
New mayor Margaret Marks attended and many guests commented on the quality of the children’s art.
