Computer equipment worth tens of thousands of pounds have been stolen from a series of businesses in Newmarket.

Police have launched an investigation into the raids of three businesses, which are all located in one building, between 4.45pm on Friday, January 10 and 10am the following day.

The incident happened at a building in Willie Snaith Road – the thieves were able to break into offices once they were inside.

The first business affected had about £20,000 of computer equipment stolen.

This included 11 Apple iMac computers, six Apple G5 PowerMacs and a server which had valuable work saved on it.

The second business had about £5,000 of items stolen, which included an Apple iMac and an Apple G5 PowerMac.

A search was also made of a third office, but nothing was stolen.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area during these times and noticed anything suspicious to get in touch.
