THREE more people have been arrested following an “altercation” in a park and shuttle site which left a couple with serious injuries.

It comes after the incident in a car park on Fordham Road, Newmarket in the early hours of Friday, July 31 which put a man in his 40s in an intensive care unit with head injuries and his girlfriend also left requiring hospital treatment.

Two 23-year-old men from the Mildenhall area have now been arrested on suspicion of causing GBH and are being questioned at Bury St Edmunds Police Station. A 54-year old man from the Mildenhall area has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and is also being held in custody at Bury.

The injured man remains in Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge in a serious but stable condition. Four other people arrested in connection with the incident remain on police bail and are due to return to Bury Police Station on September 14.
