Automatic fire alarms were triggered after the fireworks were let off in communal areas of the flats in Exning Road, Newmarket at around 8.45pm last night.
Appliances from Newmarket, Mildenhall, Wickhambrook, Burwell and Soham, as well as a turntable ladder from Cambridge, a water carrier from Newmarket and a command unit from Ixworth all attended the incident, as did the police due to the nature of the call.
