A HORSE had to be freed in a dramatic rescue today after getting stuck astride a partition in the back of its horsebox.
A fire crew and rescue tender from Newmarket attended the scene of the incident, in Manderston Road, Newmarket, at 9.30am today.
The horse had to be sedated by a vet as firefighters used two electric saws to remove the partition in a rescue attempt which took nearly 20 minutes.
The owner and vet remained on scene to wait for the horse ambulance, although the animal was not thought to have been seriously hurt.
