A motorist is in hospital after a crash on the A14 near Newmarket.

Three people were injured in a collision involving a lorry and a Volkswagen Transporter van on the A14 eastbound exit slip road for the A142 (Exning) shortly after 12.50pm today.

Two were treated at the scene for minor injuries but a third was taken by land ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital with spinal and neck injuries not thought to be life-threatening, an East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said.

Further details about the motorists were not released. It is not clear in which vehicle they were travelling.

One lane on the slip-road remained closed until around 3.15pm.
