AN animal charity has said it has treated a record number of patients in its purpose-built Hydrotherapy Centre.
The Animal Health Trust (AHT) based in Kentford, near Newmarket, have said they have treated about 700 cats and dogs in their pool and water treadmill during its first 12 months of operation.
The AHT, who last month saw their president Princess Ann open a state-of-the-art cancer treatment facility at the site, said they have treated a wide range of conditions ranging from spinal injuries to general strains and obesity.
The hydrotherapy team, who have been providing treatments to animals since 2005 but have only been based in the specialised centre since December 2011, have also been recognised with a Hawksmoor ‘Dedicated to Excellence’ Centre Award.
Head of Hydrotherapy Jo Handley-Howard said: “It’s great that the level of expertise we provide, and our dedication to excellence, has been recognised by Hawksmoor. We have treated 700 cases this year, a number we’re particularly proud of given that everyone in our Hydrotherapy team also has other nursing duties to fulfil.”
