Three people arrested in connection with a stabbing incident in Newmarket at the weekend have been released on police bail.

Just after 2am on Saturday, officers were contacted by the ambulance service, who were attending to a man in St Anthony with stab wounds to his upper body.

The man, in his twenties, was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A man and two women who were arrested in connection with the incident have all been released on bail.

A 24-year-old man from London, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed to return to the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre on September 11.

Two women, aged 21 and 29 and both from Newmarket, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have been bailed to return to the investigation centre on the September 9 and September 10 respectively.
