THE next-of-kin of a pensioner who died in Lowestoft on Monday have been traced thanks to appeals in the media.

Suffolk Police issued appeals earlier this week in Suffolk and Edinburgh in a bid to track down members of Andrew Cairns' family after the 61-year-old passed away at his home in High Street, Lowestoft.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death but police had been unable to locate his next-of-kin and issued an appeal for anyone with information to come forward.

As a result of coverage in Edinburgh, Suffolk police were contacted by Mr Cairns brother.

Detectives are thanking the media for their assistance.
