Police are searching for those responsible for a ram raid in an unregistered Mercedes which happened in Red Lodge this morning.
The incident happened at around 2am when a silver Mercedes 4x4, which had no registration plates, ram raided the rear shutters of the Nisa store in Bellflower Crescent.
A Suffolk police spokesman said: “It is thought there were either two or three offenders with sledge hammers and balaclavas.
“They forced entry to the cigarette counter and filled a dustbin with the contents before leaving the scene in the vehicle.”
Police are continuing to search for the suspect or suspects, and have urged anyone with information to get in contact by calling 101, quoting CAD 29 of today.
