A motorist tested 16 times over the limit for a cocaine metabolite when driving with three children just north of the Suffolk border.

Sgt Chris Harris of the Norfolk and Suffolk Roads Policing Team tweeted details of the incident on the A11 in Larling, north of Thetford, yesterday.

A blood test on the driver was said to have given a reading 16 times over the limit for benzoylecgonine, which is formed by the metabolism of cocaine.

Sgt Harris, who carried out the pre-emptive stop on the vehicles, also said there were children on board who were not wearing seatbelts.

The middle seatbelt was reportedly being used to hold up a television in the boot so it didn’t get damaged.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
