A man was taken to hospital with a fractured leg and burns after the oil drum he was handling exploded.
An ambulance spokeswoman said the man was blown backwards by the force of the blast, which happened at around 8.45am in Beetley, near East Dereham, Norfolk.
Firefighters from Dereham, Massingham Hethersett, Fakenham and Sprowston attended the scene as well as an ambulance crew and rapid response vehicle.
The injured man was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital for treatment.
