A 32-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire broke out at a petrol forecourt on the A47.
Fire crews were called to the BP filling station in Norwich Road, just outside Swaffham, shortly after 11.15pm last night.
It is thought a car was set alight close to the fuel pumps and the A47 was closed for about six hours as a precaution, re-opening at 5am today (Monday).
Staff and customers at the garage and the nearby McDonald’s restaurant were evacuated.
The man was due to be questioned by police today.
