NORFOLK: A woman who broke her leg on a beach has been airlifted to hospital.
The Watisham Search and Rescue Sea King helicopter was conducting an exercise this morning when it was called to help out coastguards in Norfolk.
A woman had been injured on the seafront at Winterton on Sea, near Great Yarmouth, at about 11am and coastguards attending the incident called in the air support.
A coastguard spokesman said: “We called in the rescue helicopter from Wattisham, which had been on exercise in the area, and they landed on the beach and picked up the patient.
“She was taken to James Paget University Hospital in Great Yarmouth where she was transferred to accident and emergency.”
