Whether you loved it or hated it as a child, there was no getting out of sports day. Here we remember the event at Felixstowe’s Orwell High School in 1983. An annual fixture in the school calendar, sports day would see all pupils taking part in a range of events, competing against their peers or working together in the many events on the school field across the country.

These pictures taken by one of our photographers on the day show the many events that took place at the school on a hot summers day including running events between pupils, the two legged race and much more.
