The trial of a 46-year-old man accused of being in possession of a shotgun with intent to cause fear of violence following a firearms incident in Leiston last month will take place in October.

Before Ipswich Crown Court today (Friday) for a plea and trial preparation hearing via a prison video link was Jake Bristol, of Valley Road, Leiston.

He pleaded not guilty to possessing a shotgun with others with intent to cause fear of violence on May 30 and dangerous driving on the same date.

His five day trial will take place on October 8. Bristol was remanded in custody.

Also before the court via a prison video link was a 16-year-old boy from Ipswich, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

He pleaded guilty to possessing a shotgun with others with intent to cause fear of violence on May 30. He was also remanded in custody.

Police were called to Old Foundry Place, Leiston, following reports of gunshots being heard at 11.45pm on May 30.
