Police are continuing their investigations
A police officer was taken to hospital for treatment to a head injury after he was assaulted in Clacton this morning.
Essex Police officers were called shortly after 2am to a disturbance in Colne Road.
On arrival police found an officer had been assaulted and was taken to hospital for treatment to his head injury.
He was discharged later in the day.
Officers at the scene arrested three men from Clacton, aged 27, 23 and 19 on suspicion of assaulting a police officer, where they remain in police custody this afternoon for questioning.
