Cockfield were fast out of the blocks, and Newdick sent in some dangerous corners. But after 11 minutes, Old Newton's Nick Zarkos sent a defence-splitting ball to free Adam Rickwood, who still had plenty to do before the striker side-stepped the defenders to neatly roll the ball into the Cockfield net.
Chances came and went for both sides, with Old Newton just shaving it, but on 52 minutes Cockfield drew level. A right-wing free kick was whipped in for Ian Plumb to place his header wide of Sealey's reach.
Cockfield had what looked like a good penalty appeal waved away, before Adam Rickwood struck his second and what proved to be the winning goal four minutes from time. Kirk Braker flicked on for Rickwood to shoot across the keeper and the Old Newton half of the crowd duly celebrated.
