Concerns had been raised about safety in the area

Police have arrested a man in Colchester on suspicion of assault and theft.

Essex Police were called to the Shrub End area of Colchester shortly before 3pm today.

A spokesperson for the police said: “We were called to reports of concerns for safety in the Shrub End area of Colchester at around 2.50pm on Wednesday, January 17.

“We attended and arrested a 36 year-old man on suspicion of assault and theft in Hedge Drive.
