There is just one month to go until Suffolk Day 2018 - where the county gets together to celebrate what makes Suffolk the best in Britain.
Showcasing Suffolk’s delicious food and produce, its rich history and heritage, it’s beautiful countryside, stunning beaches and its warm-hearted people, Thursday, June 21, will truly be a day to remember.
A host of Suffolk Day events are already in the pipeline - with more being added to the packed roster every week.
And to make sure you are kitted out for the big day, a Suffolk Day shop has been launched, selling all sorts of county-themed merchandise.
Suffolk County Council is replacing all the ‘Welcome to Suffolk’ signs with new ones to mark the big day while a host of family friendly events will take place across the county.
Suffolk Food Hall in Wherstead is offering a chance for local schools to meet and learn about six of the county’s native breeds, while Bury St Edmunds cathedral is offering tours of the iconic building.
Kentwell Hall is celebrating the day by offering half price tickets to the house, gardens and farm while the East of England Co-op are holding free in-store tastings for scrumptious Suffolk-made treats.
Easton Farm Park are opening their doors for free giving visitors the chance to meet its Suffolk Punch horses and Suffolk Red Poll lambs while The King’s Head in Orford celebrates with live music from local artists.
RSPB Minsmere is offering residents the chance to spot some of the special wildlife that makes its home on the county’s coast.
Matt Parrott, RSPB visitor experience manager, said: “Simply show us proof of a Suffolk address and then enjoy a stroll around Minsmere’s beautiful nature trails as you look for avocets, bitterns, marsh harriers and more.”
Suffolk Vegans Club are celebrating the day with a vegan picnic in Felixstowe’s Spa Gardens while the Friends of Colneis is holding its summer fair in aid of Fairfield Infant and Colneis Junior School.
But this is just the tip of the iceberg, with scores more events taking place across the county.
