Pupils and staff have been celebrating after impressing inspectors.

Orford Primary School has been graded as “good” by Ofsted - an improvement on its previous rating of “satisfactory”.

Inspectors said the school provided “rich learning experiences” that made an “outstanding” contribution to pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. It also praised youngsters’ “exemplary” behaviour and the “warm and friendly” environment that created a strong sense of community.

Teaching was assessed as “good”, with work exceptionally well matched to the different capabilities of students.

Headteacher Stephen Green said he and governors would like to thank everyone at the school for their hard work. “Staff and parents have been saying for a long time that this is a very special place and this has now been recognised,” he said.
