Firefighters tackled two incidents on opposite sides of the county overnight.

Just after 1am a crew from Princes Street station was dispatched to Roebeck Road in Ipswich after reports of a car fire.

Wearing breathing apparatus and using two hose reel jets fire service personnel extinguished the blaze by 1.30pm.

At around that time an appliance from Mildenhall was being sent to an incident in Pollards Lane, West Row.

Here there had been reports of a fire in the open, but on arrival crews found the fire involved a storage barn containing household and agricultural equipment.

Assistance was requested from Littleport in Cambridgeshire and the Newmarket water bowser was also dispatched.

A pair of hose reels and two main jets were used to tackle the blaze with the incident under control by 3am.
