The owners of the dog, Bean, are overjoyed after he was returned

Bean, a female fawn coloured pug is believed to have been taken from the family’s home yesterday lunchtime.

Bean’s owner Fay Meen quickly took to Facebook to spread news about the dog’s disappearance, accruing a huge following from fellow owners and concerned friends.

A CCTV video was also released by the family online which appears to show a man in a white van taking the dog from the owners home.

The video was viewed over 200,000 times online and has been shared over 8,000 times by Facebook users up and down the country.

Within hours of the photos and video going up the young pug was back at home.

Fay, said that the Bean’s return had been possible “thanks to the power of Facebook.”
