A GANG of 30 youths attacked two men in Frinton, leaving one of them needing 22 stitches.
Essex police want to hear from any witnesses to the outbreak of violence in Fourth Avenue in the early hours of Saturday.
The two 24-year-old Frinton men were attacked by a group of up to 30 young men aged in their mid to late teens.
One of the men suffered cuts and bruises to his face and body.
He required 22 stitches as a result of being punched, kicked and struck with a crutch.
The other man suffered a bruised and swollen right eye after he was punched and kicked.
It was just after midnight when the attack took place, near the Methodist Church in Fourth Avenue. Anyone who witnessed the attack or can give any information is asked to call police at Walton on 0300 333 4444, or to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
